Onkyo HTS-660 setup!, but can it handle 96KHz?

I finally got my first HT setup. It's the Onkyo HTS-660 5.1 HT. Very satisfied with it and was a great deal. DTS works nicely, too. I was wondering, though.. on my Toshiba SD-3900 DVD player there are two digital audio options which has the sample frequency at either 96KHz or 48KHz. Which one should I be using? They sound about the same, although it seems 96hz sounds louder. Can my new HT handle 96KHz?

Thanks!

Um. Why wouldn't it be able to handle it?

Well, I'm new to the HT thing, and I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be pushing my receiver and speakers too hard.

The sample rate has nothing to do with "pushing your receiver and speakers too hard".
