I don't have any idea what caused this. does anyone have any ideas. it was a sony sa-wm40 12" sub. I have had it for about a year and a half.

Sorry to hear about the death of your sub!

Does anyone still sell this model? I'd love to have.. another one myself! any idea where to get a "working" one?

You know, the DLS 10" from Parts Express is an excellent choice. A few people have compared the older DLS quite favorably to the WM40 and the new one should be better.
