Best place for an Audio Rack

I am looking for a audio rack to put all my audio needs (Reciever, DVD player, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube) on. Something made glass and wood combo would be nice. Whats the best place to look. Best Buy had one I liked, i have heard try Ikea. I dont really want to spend more than $300 at most. Prferably less. Any ideas>???

Just a matter of taste, perhaps, but I'd avoid the glass (esp. glass doors, which are a pain and reduce much-needed ventilation). A well-populated a/v rack will not have much room to collect much dust, and it's *much* handier having an open front than clunky glass doors to poen every time you want to change a dvd/cd/game, etc. (plus there's the matter of controller cables)

Also, you can always add a simple small curtain to the front of the rack if you really want to protect equipment.

As for best prices, I'd search the usual places for specific racks that you like, then do a search on pricegrabber or froogle with model # or description to find best prices.

Hey! Where did all the cables go? Always weird how those advertising shots look better than in real life!

With the glass shelves, you may want to further isolate your components with vibrapods or similar.

This is the one that I use on my home theatre. It has rubber stops (5 I believe) for each glass shelf. No rattles for me on HT viewing.

I like that one too, but it is a little to much for me, and I need 5 shelves. It is nice though.

Rustynuts, it even has a "cable management system" to hide the cables. unfortunately they only put hole in one of the sides for the cables so you have to run the power and av cables together which is not really recommended.
