Check out that one. While I find it mostly hideous, the dedication and cash required to build that is mind boggling. Yes, I'm jealous.

Any others you've found?

The TK ones cost about $150-300 per square foot. I've seen a complete TK "Savoy" with a good quality Runco DLP projector and a full rack of quality equipment estimated at around 230K (no joke) at www.abtelectronics.com. That's a lot of carrots for HT, but it includes the full buildout (room about 20X30), ridiculously comfy motorized leather recliners, custom brass speaker grilles, sconces, starfield ceiling etc. You can probably do it for much less if you go a little less ornate (I've seen other complete estimates that top out at about 30K with buildout and furniture). I'll bet some of those custom TKs go into the millions...

I think, technically, you can spend anything you want on HT.

All that money and time spent on decoration, and he cheaps out on the projector. Not that that's a necessarily bad projector, but I'd expect to see a $50k CRT hanging up there.

I had the same reaction. Clearly the guy is not a hard-core HT-head (note the complete lack of hush box), he more just wants to impress people.

I can't seem to locate where i put that article, but i do remember them saying that the setup cost over 100k on cables alone... makes you wonder how much the rest of the setup costs.. !!!

Anyone can drop hundreds and thousands of dollars unnecessarily on "premium" cables. Not surprising, and not the real limiting factor in audio/video quality either...

yeah, i remember last year at the home theater expo...i think it was in the runco room, they had a setup that was like 180k for 2 speakers, some amps, sacd player, and some cables. the cables alone were like 45k. if i have to choose between a brand new car or some speaker wire...i'm going with the car.

Isn't that Master P's HT room?
