Final verdict on Denon DVD-2900?
So, now that the 2900 has been out for awhile, what's the final opinion on it? I've heard about the bass management problems. Are they still in existence? Was it a non-issue that was blown out of proportion? Does it have any other problems? Or works great?

This should help
Personally, I say it's worth every penny. A friend owns it, and it is so smooth. I could only afford the Denon DVD-1600 :(, but still love it. |
I love mine! Outstanding video, solid build, great DVD-Audio and SACD.
I do not have a problem setting up the bass management with my Yamaha RX-V1. It did very well in the latest DVD player shootout. http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/cgi-b...#DenonDVD-2900 There is not a bass management problem per se, but a disagreement over how to adjust the bass (lfe channel) according to the spec. It is correct according to the spec but some receivers that cannot adjust each channel independently may have a problem. You could purchase an Outlaw ICBM to handle the bass management but not many seem willing to do that. Here is a rather long thread discussing the 2900. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...1&pagenumber=1 |
Brain...awesome...how much did you pay for it and where?

You might also might want to check the DVD Hardware section of the www.avsforum.com. There are many posts about the 2900 with lots of info.
