Check out my Starter Home Theater?
This is what I'm thinking of purchasing sometime in the next few weeks:
6.1 Receiver:
Denon AVR-982 $349.99
Fronts:
Fluance SV-10 $299.99
Center:
Fluance AV-SC $69.99
Surround:
Fluance AV-BP2 $99.99
What do you think for my first Home Theater? Should I purchase the better fluance speakers seperately or just purchase the regular speakers in the set for $259? Anyone have any major experience? I also am not sure about the Denon. I think its a good deal for the price. Any suggestions?

If the budget dictates go with the better speakers. HTIB has come a long way. For $259 it gets you started then you can upgrade over time. How's that for straddling the fence.

No, I'm taking a huge chance on them though that there halfway decent. All I've heard were reviews and opinions and none of them have been bad. I just hope they don't suck so I don't have to send them back because they were "broken"

FYI - I don't think those speakers are legit. 8 inch subs, yet the speakers only extend to 42 hz, while the speakers are huge, they only claim to weigh 38 pounds a piece. only true if the mdf is like a 1/4 inch.

As for the speakers I have never heard of them. Personally I would not buy any speaker I could not listen to first.
Good luck to you.

Yeah, that's odd they only go down to 42hz with an 8" woofer, poorly engineered?
Check out BIC America speakers, they're amazing. Very cheap, but extremely well built.
And like everyone said, you need to listen to the speaker first. Ignore reviews and comments about how a speaker sounds because personal tastes differ so much. And who knows, the reviewer could have been listening to Bose speakers for years, so ANYTHING will sound great to him :P

Fluance is legit. I purchased the AV-HTB set from an E-bay dealer for about 200 bucks shipped. No regrets at all. They sound even better as they break in. Are they audio-phile? No. Are they an excellent starter set for Home Theatre. Yes!
Paired with the low-priced Sony sub (SA-WM-40) it is an excellent speaker system for less than 300 total!!! You will and do need a Sub. Home theatre is naked without one!
For music though, I listen to my wharfedale emeralds.
