Kiplisch Speakers worth the upgrade?

I can get

Yahmaha 5660
All Klipsch
2 main= floor standing speakers sf-2
sub= sub ksw-12
center= center sc.1
2 surround= Surround ss.1
for $2000

IS this a good deal? I am going to get the Yahmah 5660 as my reciver for certain, with or without the speakers. So would the $1500 for the Kiplisch set be worth the upgrade?

I curently have
2main= floor standing Sony ss-mh600h
sub=Sony sa-wm40
center=JBL S=center 2
2 Surround= Boston VRS Micro

$289 for a pair of ss-1
$469 for a pair of sf-2
$179 for the sc-1
$349 for the ksw-12

so new they would have gone for- $1286 or so.

I guess the yamaha was $500 new

10% off at onecall.

I would not pay more than $1700 new and $1500 total used IMO.

as far as the speakers go. They would be better than your system now also IMO.

good luck.

I don't think it's a good deal; I rarely pay more than 50 - 60% of retail for used equipment. Assuming gcribbs' prices are correct, I would not pay over $700 for the speakers.

Look around; there are a lot of good used equipment dealers on the web that allow returns if not satisfied.

The original poster made no reference to "USED" speakers so why are you talking used here? Of course used prices are much lower then new prices but most people do not like buying used equipment so the used price is useless!
