New speakers recommendation solicited

I guess the most important thing I need out of this is shielded L&R and Center

Current setup:

Toshiba 50HDX82 set (due to space considerations, the L&R and Center will ride on top for the forseeable future.
Sony 4ES receiver

I have an assortment of speakers in place right now and would much rather have a sonically matched 5.1 or 7.1 set. I don't need a sub, I am very happy with my powered 200Watt 12" solution.

I was looking closely at the B&W LM602 S3s and found out that they are not shielded, so, they are out.

I am trying to stay away from the 5 satellites and a sub setup that is so popular right now.

One option I have been considering is to go with 3 B&W LCR60s (their shielded center channel) for the front soundstage and the LM601s for the rear.

Without needing a sub, I would like to keep the budget in the $1500 range for a 5 speaker setup or $2000 for a 7 speaker setup.
Thoughts? Recommendations?

Check out PSB. Excellent speakers and a great value for the money.

The Image series would fit very nicely into either budget.

Take a look Skar's recommendation. Drop out the sub and you're around the $1500 range.

If you like the sound of B&W speakers, then by all means get them. I doubt you'll find anything better.

Why?

The matching center is shielded. How close were you planning on placing these?

I used 602's in a home theater for years that were 12 inches away from my TV.

Due to space constraints, the L, C and R will sit on top of the widescreen. I don't have room to put them to the sides.
