DVD Player Problems.....Help

I have a Toshiba SD-1200 player that has worked flawlessly up until last night. I went to watch a disk and the player will not recognize it. I tried several different dvds, but it will simply not play them. The screen reads "insert disk" like it doesn't have a disk in when it actually does. I have another player, but it is a cheap multi-region Sampo that I use for imports and I don't want to make it my primary player. Anyone know of a way that I can fix the Toshiba, or what is wrong with it? It was working perfectly the night prior to this problem. If this is a major problem I will most likely just buy a new player rather than having this one repaired.

Sounds like it's time to buy a new DVD player. Any repair is going to be almost if not more than a comparable player would be today. You can get a new Toshiba SD-3900 for $99, might want to look into some of the other new models as well.

Some people swear by using a lens cleaner. If that doesn't work, start shopping.

Sometimes you have to pull the power plug to force the software to reload. Powering off and on doesn't do it.
