Moving Across the Country Soon--How Can I Protect my HDTV?

In a month or two I'll be moving from NV to IL, using a big Ryder-type truck to haul everything we own (and it's a lot). I'm not concerned about my furniture, books, etc., or even about my stereo equipment--but I AM concerned about my 47" WS HDTV I picked up about 6 months ago.

How about I going to move it SAFELY in a truck with everything else I own? Can it be done? If so, how? Any other good options? I lot can happen in driving in 2000 miles, and I'd hate for some weight shift or anything else to harm my precious TV.

Advice?

In the last 18 months I have moved my 65" Sony HDTV twice. Both trips were only about 100 miles each, but they were through bumpy, curvy, mountain passes. It still survives in 100% perfect condition.

I kept the styrofoam bottoms for it and used those in the truck. I placed my queen matresses as the bread pieces of a $4300 bed n' TV sandwich (bed worth $800). I used ratcheting cargo tie-downs to secure the sandwich to the bottom of the truck from the sides.

I suggest you find some moving insurance that will pay for the damage to the TV with little or no deductable. Or, your auto insurance may cover your truck rental and everything in it already (mine would).
