Silver Receiver/DVD Player w/ Black TV?

I'm seconds away from making a purchase that would give me this kind of setup, and I'm wondering if anyone else has run in to this problem. Does it really make that much of a difference? Are you bothered when you're watching TV?

Don't have that situation, but don't think it would bother me.

When the Asthetics Police show up to rate the color of my equipment I'll let you know.

haha ya. I don't have cable, and I still don't even get the local channels well with those (I live in DOWNTOWN too hehe.) Been thinking of getting comcast though.

Yeah, don't sweat the color. Buy for the component. Chances are you won't notice unless everything around it is the complete opposite, and you're anal retentive.

I've got a silver TV, sitting on a chrome rack underneath: A silver DVD player (2nd silver/blu DVD player due to arrive today) A dark TiVo, brown/grey VCR, dark gray w/ black highlights CD recorder, black receiver, grey turntable. None of it really matches, and all those dark components don't look right sitting on a large chrome rack (what I use for an entertainment center) You don't notice it.

Well, IT BOTHERS THE HECK OUT OF ME. My TV is silver, which is ok. But I wanted all my components to be black, to match my component rack and TV stand. But the DVD player I wanted was only available in silver, so I settled for a lower-level version so I could get it in black. Then I wanted to add a HD Tuner/Receiver, and it is only available in silver. So now all my components - VCR, DVD, A/V Receiver, PS2, Xbox - are BLACK, EXCEPT for my HD Receiver which is SILVER. And I HATE how it doesn't match.

Yes, I am anal. I like things to look nice, organized, and color-matched (to a reasonable extent).

Personally I prefer silver. After more than 25 years of audio equipment I am REALLY tired of black.
