Anyone know about the pioneer LD-V8000 laserdisc player?

I was curious if anyone know's about this model. My friend wants to sell it to me. This would be my first LD player...anyone know how much these are worth or if they are good?

The LV-8000 is an industrial model, missing most of the user convenience features found in the consumer line. This is a single-side play (no auto-flip) machine. It is said to have a fairly good picture. Usually they sell on eBay for a little over $100.

One thing to note, ask your friend if he has the remote control. Because this was an industrial unit, Pioneer sold the remote separately (all the better to eek a few extra $$$ out of companies and schools). Most of these being auctioned on eBay do not have the remote.
