Recommend a VCR/DVD combo for me (as a gift)

I plan on buying a combo unit for a family member as a gift because it's specifically what she wants. Any suggestions? It doesn't have to be a fancy one as it's just hooking up a a fairly typical 27" TV. Right now she only has a VCR, but wants to replace the VCR with the dual unit, so save the "get her a seperate unit" comments, because this is what she wants. There is also a space limitation issue.

Yes, I did read some of the older posts, but I think they're a bit outdated since there are some newer models on the market.

Looking at the ones out right now I would probably get the Panasonic PV-D4742, yes it's quite an ugly little thing but Panasonic seems the way to go in the dvd market.. I wouldn't even look at the cheapo dvd/vcr combos, if you ARE going to get an all-in-one type of unit, at least spend the extra few $ and make it a decent one..

(didn't do much research on price but buy.com has it for 199.99 AR with free shipping)

I currently have the Panasonic PV-D4752 which is a progressive scan player (the PV-D4742 is not progressive scan). It is by far and away the best DVD player that I've owned. I occasionally use the VCR part of it and it works great too! I'm sure you can get some good deals on the Panasonics as I believe there is a newer model out, but it only adds a lit remote and commercial advance.
