DVD Audio and RPTV help
I have two questions maybe you guys can help me with so here goes.
I have a DVD player with DVDa capabilities, where can you find DVD-A Dvds at? I have looked at Best Buy and Circuit city and cant find any. Also is DVDa in competition with SACD (aka do I need to worry about not ever getting DVDA because SACD will be more popular) Second question. I have a new Mistu 55511 and a toshiba sd4800 dvd player. When I play movies I notice some screen distortion... It can be best described kinda like fuzz on really dark or black objects on the screen. This was really prevelant when I watched "made" this weekend and they showed the nighttime street shots. I have noticed this on most of my DVDs. Do you think this could be my TV or DVD player causing this.. THanks |

Both the Best Buy and Circuit Shitty in my area carry both SACD and DVD-A, and they're not even the best of those stores in the metro area. I'd look again. In my Best Buy, DVD-A is with music videos, and SACD is in the audio department next to some SACD player for sale. In the Circuit Shitty, they're both back in the home audio section in small displays. While I think it's possible SACD will survive and DVD-A will fade away, I don't think it will be any time soon (if it even happens). They seem to be marketed to different people, and it seems too early to tell what will ultimately happen. It seems audiophiles will be more interested in SACD, while DVD-A has a broader appeal. It would be nice if both formats survive, since I do think each has its own advantages. das |
look at AMAZON for DVD-A's (just search "DVD-A")
SACD is the other high res audio format. Most disks are one or the other so it is a bit of a format war. Lots on new players are coming out that do both. Dont know about the other problem though. |
