Sound Delay on HT-DDW740

I have a problem with the sound kicking in on the Ht-ddw740. Whenever I switch chapters or a new menu loads it takes a second for the sound to kick in. This doesn't matter one bit. The layer change on some movies does cause a problem however. For example on The Phantom Menace (at 50:40), the beginning of Obi Wan's line gets cut off. This could just be my player taking too long to send the signal. The problem doesn't happen if I set it up for Pro Logic. I realize the system isn't high end but any help would be appreciated.
