TV/VCR Combo doesn't work with DVD Player
 

I have a friend who has a TV/VCR combo and she just got a DVD player and she was describing the copyright portection issue that happens when you connect a DVD to a VCR. (i.e. the screen getting dark and light). She said she probably needs to get a new tv, but that SUCKS!

Has anyone else had this problem with TV/VCR combos?

If she has no way of hooking up the player directly to the TV portion of the combo and are forced to go through the VCR then yes she's probably screwed.

I hooked up my PS2s to two different 13" TV/VCR combos and it works fine. Also works as a good portable DVD player. :)

That's odd. I wonder if PS2's have a way of ignoring the copyright protection on the DVD's?
