Audio Problems with the Sharp DV-S1

So, I got this dvd player as a gift. And a majority of my dvd's have audio problems on this player. After about 3-5 minutes, the synch slips off. The weird thing is some of my discs play fine, all the way through audio stays in synch. I've checked with Sharp and they went through the audio settings with me, and say everything is as it should be. They recommended getting a laser cleaner for it, and if that fails having it serviced.

Anyone else have similiar problems with a player like this, and did cleaning it solve the problem? Is there anything else that will make it play my dvd's and not go out of synch??? Very frustrating. Thanks in advance for any comments.

Proper Cable?

Bobby, I purchased the Sharp S1U last week and have had no problems with audio synch. so far.

May I assume you are using the digital output with coaxial cable? When I first used a standard audio cable I got poor sound, however, when I replaced it with the coaxial it made a tremendous difference.

Hope this helps.
