Video Pass-through on an Amp

is there any benefit to running your video signal, say from a cable box, through the pass-through on an amp before going to the TV?

You will loose a little quality by doing this. Just to let you know. I do it because it is very easy. I believe you will loose about 2-3% picture quality.

Are you talking about a video signal amplifier or an audio amplifier?

audio amp/receiver. I've never used the pass-through, just wondering if there was any reason to. Thanx for the answers.
