Can a car stereo sub be used in a home sub box?
i think there would be an ohm problem but just thought I'd ask. I have an extra car sub that appears to be much better quality than the sub in my home box. just wanted to hear it but I dont want to blow anything up. (!)

yes, but it will operate at 4 ohms. generally, the car subs are made for closed environments and tight airspace, and will provide more "boomy" bass than detail and subtlety that something tuned for an 8ohm signal will.

I was thinking the exisiting amp on the home sub box would power it. if it wont hurt anything maybe I wil pop it in and give a listen. thanks guys
