bass shakers hook up

i have a pair of base shakers and want to know if i can hook them up like this.

i don't have money for an amp or another rec. i have center, rears, fronts & sub already hooked up. I wired the bass shakers to the fronts. (i have 1 Front/bass shaker) hooked into 1 slot on the rec. times 2.

them seem to work but don't want to blow anything up so i undid the shakers until i get some advise. is it ok to have 2 products (speakers) hooked to 1 rec slot?

this really depends on your equipment.

if you have a cheaper amp, yes, expect it to burn out in a few months of moderate use. if its a higher quality amp, dont worry too much. when you wire two "speakers" in at the same time, it halves the resistance. the bass shakers are already like 4 ohm, so, you get 8 from the speakers, 4 from the bass shakers, thats an average of 6. half of that is 3 ohm. most cheap amps cant even handle 4 ohm.

my suggestion is a speaker selector box. a monster cable one will actually MATCH impedence and has an overload protection circuit in it to stop from frying your amp. but if its a higher quality amp >$500, it should be ok. like a yamaha, denon, pioneer elite, sony ES.
