I have a 6.1 receiver that does Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES matrix, but it will not decode DTS-ES discrete. Is it possible to add on a DTS-ES discrete decoder? And is DD EX a true 6.1 discrete sound or is it matrixed?

DD EX is matrixed, not discrete.

Doesn`t sound like you have a 6.1 discrete receiver. It`s matrixed.
