TV trade in? and other HDTV questions

Does anyone take used/older TVs in trade when you buy a new one from them?

Also, what is the best Digital Widescreen HDTV out there for the money? $3000 maximum

Best place to buy / deals ?

What is HAVI that is coming out on new models next year?

From what I can tell, HAVI will allow you to network all of your electronics/appliances together through a network. You could control them all with one remote control.

AFAIK, Mitsubishi tv'v, dvhs and the upcoming Echostar receivers are the only havi enabled devices on the market.

I think Mitsubishi's netcommand uses something from havi, in being able to control other devices from other manufacturers, from one remote.

Granted it doesn't work for all machines... but for me its done its purpose. I can select dvd, it will switch the video output and the proper channel on the AV receiver automatically to dvd.

I think this upcoming year we will see more havi devices coming out..

Now as far as tv's are concerned, there are too many to list. It comes down to preference. I personally own a mits.

Some good deals are probably your smaller specialized AV stores and Good guys. The only reason i mention good guys is that you can haggle with their price, which is harder to do at the other major stores (like Best buy and Circuit City)
