Question about floor speakers

I just got a pair of Pioneer floor speakers but they are about a foot shorter than my tv (panasonic 53" ws), should I cut down some speaker stands to put them on so they are even with the screen or should I leave them lower than the tv?

I highly & seriously doubt your ears will be able to determine that the sound is a foot lower than your TV. Just leave them.

ideally you'd want the tweeters of all three front speakers to be at ear level when seated

They are PIO 5H453K, I know they are last years model, but for the size of the room, they sound very nice.. Pioneer DSX-V411 receiver.. I know, not the best, but DD and DTS and worked for my budget :) btw just finished my HT, I'll post picks soon, I think it turned out pretty well for my low budget..

No the 453s are the new models the 452s are last years.

They are fine where they are but if it would look better make a box of MDF to the right height and paint it black.

I will tell you that due to the design on the tweeter horn those speakers have excellent off axis performance. You can be as much a 30 degrees of center and have almost no impact.

well, I have some 5' tall raxxess speaker stands that I was going to cut down to the right height, but I didn't really want to mess them up if I didnt have to, so you thing MDF would work just as well?
