Easy question about setting up a DVD player on a TV set.

Okay here's the deal. Say you want to hook a standard DVD player up to an older TV that doesn't have anything except a coaxial hook up. Do you have to buy a RF Modulator? or can you hook up the Component (RCAs) directly to your VCR (via RCAs - stereo VCR) and then just turn on your VCR and make sure it's on AUX or Ch.3 and be able to watch the DVD?

It sounds like that would work to me. I'm not interested in recording or disabling anything...just wanna watch DVDs w/out buying an RF modulator.

Hooking a DVD player into the VCR usually won't work because of copy protection on DVDs (macrovision). If you have an older VCR it might work (your VCR might not recognize the macrovision) but chances are pretty good that it won't.

It's a relatively newer VCR so I'm guessing this won't work. Thanks for the help.

You could always try it assuming you already own a composite video/audio cable set. Worst case, you lose nothing.
