Found my HTIB!
I had a thread a few weeks ago about wanting a cheap home theatre in a box. After going to best buy and hearing the sub $400 one I was a little disapointed. My computer and headphones have better sound. So I was on Circuit City's site and found this. This takes you to the search page, it won't link to Onkyo page..why? no idea.
$499 Onkyo
I think this is the one I want. Its a little more than I wanted to pay but it will be worth it down the road. Thing is there are no Circuit City's in my state! So I have to go by customer feedback. Which is a overwhelming positive. Anyone have this system or have heard it? Do you think I should just go with the customer feed back? The only electronic stores in my area are Best Buy and Ultimate Electronics, niether of which sell Onkyo.
Thanks for any advice.

It has the Onkyo TX-SR500 as the receiver; the only drawback I really see in it is the lack of component video switching, but you A) might not even need component switching or B) might decide to use a A/V switch as a makeshift component video switcher. It looks like a nice system to me. The system has gotten fairly good reviews at http://www.hometheaterforum.com , also.
How far away is the closest Circuit City? If you don't like it, and if the nearest one is within driving distance, I'd say go for it.

I got the HT-S650 just last week. I'm not an audio expert, but I do know that this system is more than enough for me at this point in my life. I haven't watched too many movies yet since I've just been playing Eternal Darkness for GameCube (with DPL II, which is very nice).
If you decide to get this, I recommend Best Price Audio Video, which is an authorized internet Onkyo dealer. I got it for $470, free shipping. That may be your best option since you don't have a Circuit City nearby. You don't have to worry about tax either. It doesn't look like they have any in stock right now though. I decided to get it towards the end of October, but had to wait until the beginning of November for them to get a new shipment.
