Help: Toshiba SDK710 (SD3800) DVD player & component outputs
I purchased the Toshiba SDK710 DVD player which has a switch on the back to select either interlaced or progressive component output. I have a Mitsubishi VS-50703 projection TV which has component inputs, but it is not progressive scan.
My problem is when I select "Interlaced" on the DVD player, all I can see are squiggly lines on the TV - it looks exactly the same when I select "Progressive" - either selection is unviewable.
My question is this: is there something wrong with the DVD player or is it that my TV cannot handle either of these types of inputs? (Is the term "Interlaced" used to describe regular component inputs?)
I had a Toshiba SD-3109 DVD hooked up to the component inputs and the image on the TV was beautiful. (Is this considered "interlaced"?)
I purchased the SDK710 because it can read DVD-Rs and VCDs without a problem.
Any ideas? Thanks.
