Opinions on the Toshiba 2805

I am looking to replace my current dvd player with a 5 disc changer. It will also serve as a cd changer.

What are peoples experience with this model? should I pony up the extra money for the 3805?

Are there any other makes and models that you all can recommend?

thanks for you input,
peter

uhm... so I take it no one has any experience with 5 disc changers... ;)

Although the deal is now gone, here's a thread from Hot Deals that is specific to the 2805....

I ended up buying one. I got the $95 deal that Amazon had a couple of days back and for that price I don't think that I can go wrong.

Thanks,

that was the thread that actually sparked my interest... but I waited too long to get it. That was why I was asking about recommendations for other models as well.

I am still a little nervous about the "slow disc change times".

thanks

I've had one since June and I love it.
I wasn't aware of any slow disc change times. The SKIP DISC function works pretty quickly and there's also a function where you can open the changer while a movie is playing so you can add or take out discs.
I've also never experienced any problems with freezing or layer changes.
The Toshiba 2805 also plays DVD-R even though it's not in the manual. Get one: Best Buy has them for only $150. You can't go wrong.

I just got the SD2805, and I'm wondering if there is anyway to display the time remaining in the title/chapter. When you hit display it only shows the elapsed time. I always get frustrated when documentaries or featurettes on the disc aren't time coded. You never know if it 5 minutes long or 50 minutes. And if this player can't show the time remaining, it's just as frustrating as no time coding at all. If anyone has any experience with player, I would appreciate some help.
