I think these are the one I'm using in my current system
I never really knew much about speakers and proper wiring
so I listened to a friend's advice
are these pretty descent wires? thanks

14 guage wire should be good for running to your speakers

You want at least 12 gauge for speaker wire, so those should be fine.

No intention of bashing here! 12 gauge is fine for L-O-N-G runs, but overkill for most setups! 14-16 gauge will work fine.

It's not a car... no need for jumper cable gauge! :)

As a side note, very good 12-gauge in wall CL rated wire is 43 cents per foot at home depot.

What's considered a long run? I've always just used 12 gauge as a standard no matter what length.

There is a long thread about speaker wire and home depot from a week or so back. jump on a search and check it out.

I am not pleased with this cable. The jackets have become brittle and the cable is oxidizing after a few years. I will not buy cable here ever again.
