NEED HELP...In the market for a $150-200 DVD player

It's either an XBOX for $200 or a new DVD player. I'm assuming I can get a pretty sweet (and much better than the XBOX) DVD player for $200, but I need massive help. Well, just some help.

1) My TV is a 20" Toshiba (link). That's what I'm working with for the next couple years, so don't bitch and moan how it sucks or whatever

2) What brand(s) should I focus on? Of course picture quality is key...do different brands perform better? Will a Toshiba DVD player be best with a Toshiba TV?

3) I'd love a player that not only plays DVDs, but CD-R's as well. MP3 playback is a definite plus and pretty much something I'd love to have. VCD playback isn't necessary but couldn't hurt. What other features should I look for in a player?

4) I love a stylish player, who doesn't? Once again, more excess than necessary.

5) How will this plug in to my TV? I already got the Cube hooked up to one of the Video ports.

6) Multi disc DVD player would be extremely cool...will this run me a LOT more or just a little more? If it's over $200, forget about it.

7) A nice remote is key. I don't want to be fumbling around when trying to play my DVDs...aesthetically pleasing as well as very functional is a must.

That's about it...once again, $150-200 is what I'm looking at. I doubt anyone's going to reccomend an XBOX over a new DVD player, but it definitely is an option for me.
