Harman Kardon Dvd Player Advice
 

I am in desperate need of a Dvd player, since my old one is quite old. I have a Harman Kardon Receiver, Cd Changer etc. and was looking at either the new Harman Kardon Dvd 25 or the DVD 50, which is last years progressive changer(interested in this mainly since my other components are last years models. I know it's not so important to have all the same brand, but if they're solid, I figure why not. That's where you guys come in.

I never see anybody on this board with one of these. Are these any good, or not worth the money? Any thoughts is appreciated since I have seen neither playing a dvd. Thanks.

Do a search here and in www.hometheaterspot.com (they have their own section for H/K) and you'll find that the DVD-50 has been a great big headache to some owners. H/K put out a CD that would fix some of the firmware problems that caused things ranging from freeze-ups to just plain not working...
Read up on the other forums... I've stopped paying attention but last year there was a big mess with it. Maybe they've fixed it by now.

I, too have a H/K receiver and also one of their speaker sets and I'm very very happy with both products.
