plays dvds not music cds :(
 

i have a pioneer dv-525 dvd player.. have had it for a few years with no problem.. anyway, i was jamming out to some music cds and one of the cds i was playing started to skip and the dvd player ejected it.. no big deal since that cd has always been flaky.. i wipped it off on my shirt and put it back in.. it searched for a few secs, spun and ejected the cd.. i put in a couple other music cds and same problem... spin.. eject.. i put in a dvd and it played just fine..

anyone have any suggestions?

I too have the Pioneer DV525. Only used for watching DVDs
and seldom play CDs.

Got a separate CD player. Perhaps your player is being overworked and time for a checkup.

Are you by any chance trying to play CD-Rs? Many DVD players (especially the older ones) cannot play CD-Rs or CD-RWs.
