Subwoofer Upgrade - Convince me!

Here's the scenario:

A few months back I purchased the following setup:

Denon 2802
(4) Paradigm Mini-Monitors
(1) Paradigm CC-370

I didn't purchase a sub because I was given a brand new Sony SA-WM20 (8" woofer, 50w). This was a 'thanks' for helping set up a friend's system. Hoping to save a few bucks at the time of purchase I opted to use the sub I had, planning to upgrade in the future.

So the future is now. I've been looking in the $400-$500 range. Checked out the HSU VTF2 and the SVS PCi 25-29 (I believe those were the models).

So my question is... How much of an improvement will I see, or hear, rather. Convince me!!

Thanks in advance!
Mike

The differences betwen the Sony and those models...hmmm, how about 'night and day'?

Seeing as I have no clue about the size of your room, and how much bass you like, I'm not sure what you've been hearing but I can tell you that either of those subs will let you know what you haven't been.

You've got quality speakers...go for a quality sub, too.
