Big TV - not so big space - suggestions?
I have a built-in entertainment wall in my new house - unfortunately, the largest space is 43" high and I want the largest 16:9 projection tv that will fit (I actually WANT a plasma, but then I'd lose a wife). The two largest I can find are the Hitachi 43UWX10B and the Samsung HCM-4215W.
Are there any others out there that I should consider (width and depth are not a problem - height is limited to 43" AND/OR what do you know about the two TV's above??? - XTC |
Check out the Mits WT-46809. 46" of widescreen glory, only 38 1/4" high.
Plus Mits makes the best HD sets outside of the expensive Pioneer Elite series IMO. Dimensions: http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/PDFs/WT46809.pdf Sorry, about the molasses speed link. Mits: great TV's, crappy website. |
I also recommend the Mitsubishi. 43" doesn't give you much to work with. I'd cut a bigger hole in the wall if you really want a bigger screen. Hey, wives come and go but TV is forever. Check out the link in my sig. I did that work myself to fit my TV into the wall.

Might I suggest a projector with a pull down screen, and just put a 32inch direct tube for normal TV viewing...

I second that motion. If you have a dedicated room, sounds like time to look at front projectors. You should at least take a look at some. Lotsa good info at www.avsforum.com

I work at a high end store full-service home theater store on Saturday's. Since I am not really supposed to mention the name here (read: free advertising) why don't you PM me. I can get prices on all sorts of things for you, RP TV, FP/Screen, Plasma (who knows), etc.
