Best HT Receiver/TV hookup config?

Do most of you guys run your compnents into the Home Theater reciever(DVD, satellite,, etc....) and then leave your TV on a single setting (ie video1)?

Or is the quality just as good by running eveything into the TV and running the audio cables out of the TV into the HT receiver?

I'm currently on the former setup but I'll be upgrading my HT in the next few months and I realized that I never used my TV's Audio Out connections. So I figured I would ask around.

Thanks in advance.

I've never used a TV's audio outputs on any setup I've ever done. But everything depends on the components in your system. For instance:

What is the best input your TV supports?
Does your receiver support component, S-Video, and/or composite video switching?
What about composite to S-Video conversion?
Do your receiver and DVD player support digital audio connections?
Do your TV have enough inputs?
How about your receiver?

Etc, etc, etc.

I generally recommend using your audio receiver to switch sources, but it is hard to make blanket statements.
