I am in the early stages of HT
 
And need a little advice I have started by purchasing Onkyo TX-SR600 Digital Receiver but that is where I stand. I currently have a 36" sony tv (non HDTV) and a 29" Toshiba (non HDTV). I started with the receiver and plan on working my way to other pieces of this puzzle. Here is the question I would like good information on speakers and to know if I need a clean power surge protector? I have been looking at PSB speakers and have found a fairly good deal on thembut would like to know if these are good or is there something better. I plan to spend about $1000 to $1500 for the speakers. Any advice on any aspects of home theater would be greatly appreciated.

Speakers sound like the perfect next step for you. Remember that good speakers are state of the art for years, while HDTV's are improving fast.

Which PSB speakers? I'm a very big fan of PSB speakers and I believe the value they provide is unmatched.

2 Image 4T's
2 Image 2B's
1 Image 8C
1 Subsonic 5 (I can get the whole set up for about $1300)
1 Monster Cable MP-HTS800HP
