16:9 feautre on a Sony Wega (4:3) TV
 

In the menu for my Sony Wega TV, I have the 16:9 option when I use one of the aux. inputs (DVD, game, etc.). When I use the option for (widescreen) dvds, I get a tiny picture that fills up only 1/5 or 1/6 of the vertical measure of my TV. Am I using it wrong? Is there a way I can stretch the DVD picture so that it is the same size when I put the TV on 16:9 mode?

you need to set your DVD Player to 16:9 as well and after that some DVD's are anamorphic so you can't use the 16:9 squeeze.

make sure your DVD player is set up in 16:9 mode. This is the most common source of problems when first starting up a Wega with the anamorphic squeeze.

Also note that the 16:9 enhanced feature is only useful on DVDs that are anamorphic

Why does it only work on anamorphic? Do you mean it only works with DVDs that say either "Anamorphic Widescreen" or "16x9 Enhanced" on the box?
