Mission Speakers

Soliciting opinions, and comments on this brand of speakers. Pros and cons would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Have seen Audioreview.com's sections for Mission:

look up specific models and see what people have to say.

With the exception of my subwoofer (HSU VTF-2) my whole HT speaker lineup is Mission: 773e fronts, 77c1 center, and 77ds surrounds.

I have them hooked up to a Denon 2801 (Denon owns Mission) and they sound great. Never had a lick of problem with them in the year and a half I have owned them and they look pretty stylish to boot. Maybe one of the best deals for the buck in the speaker world.

Clear highs on the 773e's. I have yet to get them to clip at listenable levels. Also, they sound excellent for music. You will need a sub to get the ooomph out of DD and DTS soundtracks, but that is standard for all HT setups.

If you are thinking about getting them, go for it. The build quality is outstanding (can be bi-wired) and they are built to last.

HSU sub

Off topic, but how do you like the VTF-2?

The VTF-2 has been a revelation to me. I had a Definitive Technologies ProSub 100TL before I purchased the VTF-2 and it sounded pretty good.

As soon as I plugged in the VTF-2 I knew what I had been missing. This thing can go low. It has very quick response (a snap to gun shots or snare drums) and a punch to the low end rumbles.

I am very pleased with it.

I guess that smart people have similar systems:

I have Mission 780s for fronts and 77ds (white so they match the wall paint) and VTF-2.

They're my first system so I can't really compare.

Now I just gotta unload my Wharfedale center for a Mission 78c.
