Why are Wharfedale 7.x diamond series speakers so ridiculously cheap?

I've been looking around for a good bargain in bookshelf speakers to replace my big bulky crappy generic floor speakers as my mains and keep coming across listings at Amazon, Ubid, and Ebay for the Diamond Anniversary 7.2s for as low as $75 a pair!??!?! The list is/was $350, but is that just BS? There are no shops here that sell them, so i'm leery of buying them sight unheard. I just tested some Paradigms that were at the same list (don't remember the model #) and they sounded fantastic, but I don't have $300 right now for them. are the Wharfedales even remotely close in quality? I keep reading all these good things, but just don't understand why they are so friggin cheap. It makes me nervous

Audioreview page for the Paradigm Mini Monitor (4.86 average, 36 reviews):

Audioreview page for the Wharfedale Diamond 7.2 (4 average, 39 reviews)

I've listened to other Wharfedale speakers, but not this model. My experience is similiar to many of the Audioreview comments:

Paradigm speakers provide an excellent value for the money. Wharfedale speakers are nowhere near as good for full price, but can provide a nice value if found at a very heavy discount. If you want to find a very inexpensive speaker, see if you can find an online dealer that will let you return the Wharfedale's if you don't like them. Otherwise it can be a risky purchase.

be careful and find out up front what the shipping charges will be.
i'm going to be returning two bookshelf speakers and a center today, that i really like but can't afford.
the shipping both to me and going back is going to come out over $200.
Ubid i've heard can be pricey in there shipping charges
