How do you test for output power from the speaker? question on volume..(denon2802).?

Help!>..

I have just installed my receiver/speaker/ps2 system..

I have a question to ask about the volume of the receiver and the speaker (denon 2802)..i normally set the volume at 00 level (denon is from -70 to 12),

I noticed that when I am listening to the radio or playing ps2, the volume of the speaker is quite ok.

While when i am playing a dvd, the volume is kinda softer than normal. I normally need to turn it up compared normal

Is there any problems with my receiver? settings or?? or its just me? digital optical line problem? av line?

IF anybody with a denon could help answer my question, or anybody at all...i really appreciate it..

thanks..

DVD soundtracks are encoded at a low volume due to the dynamic range of the soundtrack. It's not a problem with your receiver.
