Panasonic DVD-RP62S.

I have one of these and it's a nice player for the price... $179.99.

No scaling feature though, dunno if that matters to you or not... That is, do you have a 16X9 set that locks when fed a progressive source?

Other than the lack of scaling (I think only JVC and Toshiba make a player in that price range with scaling?) it's well worth your money IMHO.

I have a Sony DVDNS700p. Its progressive scan, a nice silver finish, and a great picture. If you dont have a digital TV, the player can be switched to interlaced. Best buy has them, or should still.

If I were you I would throw in an extra 20 bucks and get the Toshiba 4800. Nice feature set, progressive, and does DVD-A if you ever get into the format. I just got in DVD-A myself, and now have to say there is no going back to regular CDs...if you are buying a new player now it is worth a listen.
