Toslink Conversion

I need to convert my optical output from my Dish 6000 to a SPDIF (coax digital) for my reciever. I did a quick search and found this . Anyone heard of this or a similar product. At $59 it seems like a good deal.

Yes, this is a good product. Midiman (M-Audio) is well known for producing professional grade digital input/converter devices. I have a digital input card of theirs.

This is the kind of item I'd look for used or on ebay. You may also want to consider the Co3, which has copy management as well (but more $$$).

We had a thread in here maybe six months ago that found all sorts of converters, down to about $15 or so. You could try searching for it.

I just had to do this. My receiver has plenty of optical ins, but only 2 coax, and that's for a CD player and a DVD/LD player.

My digital cable box only had coax out. So I got the one from www.mcmelectronics.com (the one pcconsultant posted a link to). I got a cable, the converter and the PS for about $25 (shipping was $10 but I'm in Hawaii, so it'll probably be cheaper for you).

Took about a week to get it. The web site's not that great, or informative, but I received everything as ordered.

And it works!

Also take a look at www.partsexpress.com . I have noticed a couple of converters on there for about 15 bucks. Sounds like a better deal then close to 60 bucks.
