Re: Whats the diference between CBR & VBR
Originally posted by aragorn69 what's better???? what's the difference???? thanks Constant Bit Rate (CBR) Variable Bit Rate (VBR) The terms are most often associated with Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) data networks. In that context, CBR is a fixed bandwidth that is guaranteed at all times. VBR is a best effort service that does not guarantee latency (delay rates) between transmission and reception. CBR is a more costly, but better for delay sensitive applications or where you want a guaranteed bandwidth. If the acronyms mean the same in the video/DVD world, then you can assume a similar analogy. CBR is more a constant stream of signal, whereas VBR may have variable signal levels with bursts of higher bandwidth when needed. Hope this makes sense. |
