RCA DVD player won't play my disc

I'm having trouble with my RC5220p player. I try to play a disc and I get an error message like "the disc in incompatible, please insert a compatible disc." The disc is Region 1. I've received similar messages with other discs, but they eventually played after a few tries. The disc in question does work on other dvd players, just not in mine. I've tried contacting RCA via email, with no response on their part. Any suggestions?

What title is it? Also, can you get it to play on another DVD player?

The movie is Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged me. I've tried in four different dvd players and it works just fine in those.

Well, you can take a look at the Audio Review responses to see if anyone else has been having this problem (there are complaints about it not reading certain discs.)

You should try cleaning the disc if you can, another suggestion was to try unplugging the power cord for a few minutes (or even up to an hour).

I did a search in this forum and didn't find anything specifically mentioning Austin Powers:

If that doesn't work, and it starts to happen too often, you'll probably be better off buying a new player rather than paying RCA to get this one fixed.

Sorry I don't have a better answer.
