Swapping DVD players - should I change TV settings?
I used Video Essentials (rented) a year ago to re-calibrate my TV set (JVC 31" - eight years old) with my old Panasonic A110 player. I am buying the Panasonic RP62S on Monday to replace it, so should I re-calibrate? I have a disc that has the THX optimizer on it - should that be good enough, or should I rent VE again? I'm using S-Video to connect to my set via my receiver, and optical output and analog for audio out. The new player has the option to use 0 or -7.5 IRE - which should I use?

It's worth renting or buying VE or Avia and recalibrating to get the best picture.

You definately need to re-calibrate since the DVD player is a different model. It should be done even if it's simply the same model player.

I don't understand, I thought a calibrated TV is a calibrated TV. Shouldn't it be the same setting with another DVD player or even an LD player?

Each Dvd player will have from a slight to quite vast differences in video quality. It's just a matter of difference electronics and optics that will give a different look.

Thanks guys - I picked it up the other day and I'll do that today or tomorrow.
