This is a deal as long as it is the HDTV and not the DTV version. But then again I remember this about 6 months ago for about 1100.00 at Ultimate Electronics in AZ.

Looks like a decent set/deal. The only thing that bothers me is the set only having one component input. This means in the future you will not be able to have your DVD player and HDTV receiver attached at the same time (unless you use a receiver as a switcher). Samsung just came out with another 30 inch model that can be had for 1200 or less with 2 component inputs. Check it out at Best Buy. Still 999.99 is an awesome price for an HDTV ready set.

I too am interested in getting a 16:9 Samsung.

However I been considering this one:TXM3098
and not the cheaper based on the 3:2 pulldown .... is this something worth a 30% increase in cost or in other words an extra $300?

Yes or maybe no. Does you DVD player support 3:2 pulldown?
If so dont get it.
