Surge Protector? Any suggestions?

My girlfriend just got the 42" Toshiba HDTV. I want to get her a surge protector. I don't really want to spend 70 bucks on one. What is a decent surge protector for around 20-30 bucks. Maybe from BB or CC? Thanks

Here's a simple one that I've found works pretty well.

Just my opinion, you spent how much on the TV? You want an "inexpensive" surge protector? I would be concerned about getting a quality one to protect that investment in the TV.

Good luck!

With a nice tv like that you'll want a nice surge protector. I would look for an APC SurgeArrest Performance series. This is what they look like, http://www.apc.com/products/surgearr...ance/index.cfm

hope this helps,

I see what you guys are saying. I picked up the Belkin Surge Master II. Rated at around 1700 joules. Here is a link to Home Depot, where I got it. Did I do okay?

Thanks for your opinions.

Good choice that'll do fine.

Picked up a Newpoint Surge (2670 joules) at Costco for $18.99. I think they've actually just replaced it with a higher-joules model for the same price. It's got 5 regular outlets plus 3 "block" outlets, coaxial cable i/o, phone i/o(2), grounding/protection indicators. Seemed like a pretty good deal compared with what I saw at BB/CC.
