Component video changers/swtichbox
does anyone sell one? I'm looking to hook up my PS2 and DVD player through component video but only have 1 jack.

Here is the most awsome switcher on the planet (at least I think so). I have the 2 device version (bought it 2 years ago) and I have used it for my 300 dvd changers.
http://www.digitalconnection.com/Pro...Video/1154.asp I have a second setup where I use it for my ps2/xbox setup, it works great. If you want to go a cheaper quicker route and you don't need audio switching, you can use any mechanical rca switch device, like the 4 device unit sold at radio shack. They work great on Xbox and PS2.... I used this myself unitl I got the $$$ money to buy the ones I have now, which I will be upgrading next month anyway... :) Hope this helps! |
No my switcher is better than yours take a look, I converted it using 18 RCA Phono connecters.
www.inlineinc.com/products/matrix/3506.htm Scroll down to see my video bandwith then tell me my IN3506 isn't as good as yours is. I also have had mine working with 4 DVD changer and 2 singles for over 2 years. ;) |
Well, I'm sure danol will end up posting how much better his is again but I figured I'd throw this in...
If you're only switching 480p/480i then you can use an ordinary A/V (composite) switch as long as you have something else (like a receiver) to switch the audio. All you have to do is make sure the inputs match the output (for example, if you plug the blue component into the white composite input make sure blue is connected to the white composite output) and you'll be all set. I'm sure it's not technically perfect, but there's no noticable signal degradation (I haven't tried 720p/1080i yet) as far as I can tell and it looks great - plus, it only costs around $20 instead of $100+. |

My roommate just bought a new remote operated switchbox. He hooked it up last night and sent me this email today...
"I put in the new switchbox from Radio Shack and I'm having the same problem that the picture quality doesn't look quite as good. However, it occurred to me that maybe what needs to be done is to readjust the TV picture settings with DVD like you did earlier. The reason why I think this might work is that the new box is processing the signal slightly to connect from the input port to the output port. The whites and blacks seem to be a little bit different, and maybe by adjusting the TV we can get them to look normal again." Is he right in thinking it just needs to be re-adjusted? I don't have the specs for the box right now, but I can get them if needed. Thanks for any help. |
Can you use a/v cables as component cables without losing quality? this is for a non progressive scan dvd player and xbox. thanks.

sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I am having this problem.
my Tv only has one imput for compnent and I need to hook up my PS2, 2 dvd players, and my HD box to it. I actually found a madkatz component switcher at EB, but it gives these faint purple lines across the screen that annoy the hell out of me. So I usually end up just sliding out the tv and connecting the wires up individually. I was thinking about buying a new reciever, I need one anyway, but I couldn't find one with more than 2 cmponent inputs. I see someone had this... http://www.digitalconnection.com/Pr.../Video/1154.asp ...will that one work with my HD signal, which I believe is 1080i ? what is the difference between that one and the $4-500 ones? Any help would be appreciated... Nick |
I just found this one...
JVC JX-66 Reversible 3 X 1 Component A/v Switcher http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...onics&n=172282 ...I would be one short, but I could always just switch out one dvd player. Is this one any good? |
