What do you guys think about this speaker Set?

Ok, I was scanning EBAY for some XBOX stuff, and I rank across these speakers. They have several different types. 2.0, 4.1, 5.1 sets, ect.

Anyway, I have a damn good KEENWOOD hometheater set in my dinning room, but I was considering a surround set for my own room (I only have a center channel/subwoofer currently).

The system is quite cheap, but it looks effective. I'm not looking for anything amazing, just some decent quality sound. Now it says it puts out 1000 watts (but their some info in the specification section of site that kind of contradicts that) which is hard to beleive somewhat, but the price seems so tempting.

Let me know what you guys think.

shipping is $45.00. if the product is defective they will send you another otherwise no returns. if you send them a product and say it is defective and they decide it is not you agree in the bid to pay them another $45.00 for them to ship it back to you.

Although they have a high rating I would pass on these cheap speakers. the 1000 watts rating is a joke - I do belive the total watts of 65 RMS however.

pass on this and try getting some speakers from a real company. I do not think these will be a good choice for a decent home theater even in a bedroom.

I am sure the experts will have better info than me. I just wanted to give you my two cents

The thousand watts P.M.P.O, or Peak Momentary Power Output!

Meaning, for a millisecond during a power spike the amp MAY spike to 1000 watts. It means nothing.

99.9999999999999% of the time it will put out the 65 watts total to all 6 speakers including the sub, which isn't much at all. That number may be exagerated also!

IMHO, I wouldn't pay more than $20-30 SHIPPED for that system!

If I were you I would pass

rule of thumb - if a speaker system advertises PMPO, run as far away as possible

RMS Amplified Power Output: Five Satellites - 5 Watts (RMS) Per

[RMS (Root Mean Square) rating, Channel - Total 25 Watts (RMS)
represents the average output] Subwoofer - 40 Watts (RMS)

Total 65 Watts (RMS) System

Any idea what the manufacturer is?

I would not touch this one even for my PC.

Looks like crap. I would spend your money elsewhere. Don't get suckered in just because it's a low price. $145 of yours will be down the drain.

Thanks guys. I was mainly looking for this to hook up for my XBOX... But looks like I'll pass.

They do have a 4.1 system for $25.99 (+5 S&h).

Anyways, thanks!
