Cross over to the sub at what frequence?

I have small satellite 50 watts speaker from JVC and have an amplified 100watts sub. The cross over is preset at 150HZ should I change it, what to listen for?

Thanks
Rob

It depends on he frequency range of your main speakers.

150Hz is a bit high, 80Hz is standard, but anything between 80-120Hz is fine

Try it at those frequencies and see what sounds best

I wasn't able to find any spec about the speakers. The only mention is on the box where it says that they are full range speaker but with 3 inch cone I doubt they can handle much bass. This is the kit th-b5 sold by JVC. At the presetting of 150HZ cross over it seem that the satellite speaker are having hard time with some bass so i sure would'nt try to lower this limit, but I'd like to know if some of you guys with small satellite speaker use higher limit?

Thanks
