Wanting to buy a DVD Player
 

Im from Australia and am looking to buy a DVD Player. I've been recommended either Marantz or Pioneer. Im also looking at Panasonic. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Toshiba is another brand to consider. Depending on your budget, I have seen some great reports on the 9200. All of the above brands are good as well. I have used Toshiba DVD products for several years, have gotten excellent performance and haven't had any service issues.

If you are going to drop a lot of money, check out Pioneer Elite, some very solid players. Escpecially their new DV-47a (US model number), it does SACD and DVD-A along wit all the features you would expect from Pioneer Elite. Otherwise, I would stick to Panasonic, Pioneer, or Toshiba for entry level models. the Toshiba 9200 is a good player, but a tad outdated... wonder when they release a new version.
